Why findlio
Built different on purpose.
Three rules. Followed every time.
01
No sponsored placements
Every pick earns its spot on merit. No payment, no free product, no quiet trades for ranking.
Standard, not exception02
Written by humans
AI helps with fact-checking and surfacing competitors. It doesn't write the verdicts. The reasoning and the words are bendy's.
Standard, not exception03
1-star reviews first
Critical reviews surface real failure modes faster than glowing ones can. The bad press gets read before the good.

How this works
One editor. Every pick.
findlio is one editor. That is not a positioning statement — it is a constraint. Every pick on this site is researched, written, and published by the same person: bendy, a Canadian editor who has been furnishing small spaces on a budget long enough to know which purchases feel right for six months and which ones feel right forever.
The niche is specific: aesthetic small-space living. First apartments, basement suites, studio-to-one-bedroom upgrades. The kind of space where one bad purchase shows up wrong every single day, and one right one changes how the room feels at 10pm when the overhead light is off and a lamp you actually like is on. The products here — lamps, faux plants, plushies, kitchen tools, room scents, home essentials — were chosen because they work in small spaces, they look good in person, and they hold up past the first month.
Every guide starts the same way: 1-star reviews first. Not to be contrarian. Because real failure modes come out faster in the complaints than in the praise. A lamp that dies in three months. A plant that looks nothing like the product photos. A kitchen tool that strips on first use. These surface before the overall rating goes up. The picks that make it through have enough going for them to earn it.
findlio earns affiliate commissions from Amazon Canada when you buy through a link. This is disclosed on every page, in every guide. The commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not yours — you pay exactly what you would pay going directly to the product page. The picks are chosen before the links are added. No brand has ever paid for placement, and the commission structure has never changed a recommendation.
This is not a top-10 list factory publishing four guides a day. There are seven curated guides right now. Each one took time to get right and will be updated when something better comes along or a pick stops earning its spot.
